Foodlink Manchester - Marketing Volunteer

Foodlink is a North West-wide initiative to promote local food to more people by providing a platform for free or low-cost publicity. Foodlink's Manchester team is seeking volunteers with an interest in food, marketing and the promotion of local businesses to assist in the development of a new card scheme.Staff and volunteers attend and promote local food events throughout Greater Manchester and the North West, meeting a wide variety of food professionals and enthusiasts.

Orchard 49, a community orchard at Seymour Grove Allotments (in the Old Trafford/Firswood area) is looking for volunteers to get involved in developing this new orchard. 

We hold regular work sessions where the jobs include:

Volunteer Warehouse Assistants - Fareshare

FareShare redistributes waste food where it can be used. The local arm of Fareshare is looking for volunteers to help in the warehouse and go out on the van delivering food to its Community Food Members.

South Manchester Community Orchard volunteers

Kenworthy Community Orchard lies between Chorlton Waterpark and Northern Moor, Wythenshawe. It was planted in 1997 & contains around 100 fruit and nut trees, plus several beds of soft fruit. Until last year, there was no-one looking after the orchard and it has therefore suffered from neglect. Since adopting the orchard, Abundance has run workshops and volunteer days on apple pruning, currant care and hedgelaying, and installed much needed rabbit guards.

The Kindling Trust are looking for a capable and motivated person to support the development of this website. You would be working with a team of other volunteers to check and develop new content; researching additional information; attracting new users; engaging members through the forum and carrying out regular checks and maintenance tasks.
