Only approximately one fifth of adult Mancunians eat the recommended minimum of five portions of fruit and vegetables a day, and childhood obesity and other food related illnesses are on the increase. While in the UK we waste approximately one third of all food, 15% of the world's population go hungry on a daily basis.

Leading by Example:
Food Access Bolton (FAB) is a community project making it easier for people in Bolton to access fresh and affordable fruit & veg. It started in 2007 with the launch of a mobile shop. The van now covers many areas of Bolton over three days and has been particularly successful in supporting people who find it hard to get out or carry heavy shopping.
